Acceptable use & academic integrity
EdxAI is a study aid. How you use it matters.
This is a draft. This policy is being finalized with legal counsel before public launch; the wording may change, but the facts below are accurate.
What EdxAI is for
EdxAI is a study aid built to help you understand a problem. When you click Analyze, it shows you an answer, the work behind it, and an explanation, so you can learn how the problem is solved. It is meant to help you understand and practice — the same way a tutor or a worked example would.
What EdxAI does not do
EdxAI does not fill in or submit answers for you. It does not run in the background, click through your coursework, or automate submissions of any kind. You always decide what to do with what you learn, and you type or submit any answer yourself.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for following your school’s academic-integrity rules and the terms of any courseware you use. Those rules vary by institution, course, and instructor, and it is your job to know and follow them. When your school’s rules and this tool disagree, your school’s rules come first.
Prohibited uses
You agree not to use EdxAI:
- to gain an unfair advantage on exams, quizzes, or proctored assessments, or in any way that violates your institution’s academic-integrity rules;
- in any course, assessment, or setting where your institution or instructor forbids the use of AI or outside assistance;
- to misrepresent EdxAI’s output as your own original work where doing so is not permitted; or
- to attempt to automate the completion or submission of coursework.
Enforcement
Using EdxAI in violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
